Women's Basketball Falls To Virginia Tech, 73-52

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Ieva Kublina and Chrystal Starling scored 19 points apiece as Virginia Tech defeated No. 24 Boston College 73-52 on Wednesday.
Virginia Tech (12-2, 3-0 Big East) opened with two runs to take a 22-4 lead with just over nine minutes left in the first half. Boston College (11-3, 2-1) then outscored the Hokies 21-12 and trailed by 7 at halftime.
Virginia Tech opened the second half with a 16-9 run, and ended the game with another run of 22-11.
Tech's 59 percent shooting helped overcome 19 turnovers. Boston College had 18 turnovers of their own and shot 31 percent.
Brianne Stepherson scored 16 points for Boston College, and Clare Droesch added 11.
