With the win, Virginia Tech has now holds a 6-2 advantage in the series. The Hokies have posted wins in the last five meetings. Tech is 4-1 in games played at BC.

Virginia Tech has now won 15 of its last 19 BIG EAST road games.

The Hokies have now won 14 straight football games during the month of September dating back to a 52-21 loss at Syracuse on September 28, 1996.

Cornerback Lenny Walls 3rd Quarter interception was his first as a member of the Eagles.

BC running back William Green had a season-high 117-yards rushing on the game - his first-ever 100-yard rushing game. Green scored on touchdown runs of 1 and 12 yards - his second consecutive two-touchdown game. He has scored at least one touchdown in each of BC s games this season.

Jamal Burke s 6-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter was his first of the season. His second TD reception in the fourth quarter for 17 yards gave him his second career two-touchdown game (Notre Dame, November 20, 1999). Burke has four career touchdown catches, all of which has come in two-touchdown games.

Michael Vick s 210 yards rushing is a career high. It is an all-time rushing single-game high for a Virginia Tech quarterback.

Michael Vick s 82-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was his longest rush from scrimmage this season. His previous high was a 63-yard touchdown run in a 52-23 win over Akron on September 2nd.

Vick s 82 yard TD run is also the longest run from scrimmage by a Virginia Tech player in a BIG EAST game. The previous high was an 81-yard run by quarterback Al Clark against Rutgers in 1997.

Vick s 210 rushing yards was the most by a BIG EAST Conference player this season.

Vick scored three rushing touchdowns. The last time a Boston College defense gave up two or more touchdowns in a single game to an individual rusher was November 21, 1998, when West Virginia s Amos Zereoue rushed for two in the Mountaineer s 35-10 win over BC.

Virginia Tech s 420 rushing yards was the most given up by a BC defense since giving up 451 rushing yards against Notre Dame in a 48-21 home loss on November 9, 1996.

Boston College s 34 total points against Virginia Tech was the most scored against the Hokies since a 48-34 home win on November 6, 1993.

Virginia Tech s 48 points is the most the Hokies have ever scored against the Eagles. Their previous high was 45 points on September 14, 1996 in a 45-7 win.

Hokie running back Lee Suggs had 145 yards and touchdown runs of 24 and 10 yards. Suggs 145-yard effort was a season high.
