Baseball Falls To La Salle, 6-3

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Despite erasing a 3-0 deficit in the top of the fifth, Boston College surrendered the decisive three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to fall 6-3 to La Salle in Florida. The Eagles, now 7-3, face #24 Florida Atlantic tonight in Boca Raton.
Chris Rosado (Stamford, Conn.) went 3-for-4 today to boost his batting average to .471. Jarett Mendoza (North Dighton, Mass.), Jeff Mackor (Salem, NH), Joe Kealty (Framingham, Mass.) and Mike Gambino (Garrison, N.Y.), constituting No.4, No. 5, No. 6 and No. 9 of the batting order, each had a single for the Eagles.
Only one of BC's three runs was earned as La Salle committed four errors in the nine-inning game. The Eagles matched the Explorers with seven hits.
Paul Knapic (Bayside, N.Y.) allowed five hits and five runs in his five innings of work for BC. He walked three and struck out five. In relief, Jaime Quiros (Jamaica Plain, Mass.) gave up one run on two hits and three walks in three innings while striking out four.
La Salle's Mike Cavallero pitched a complete game, striking out one while also issuing one free pass.
