• Entering his 20th season coaching at the collegiate level and his third at Boston College. Loeffler begins his first year with the title of Deputy Head Coach Offense in 2018 for the Eagles.
• Tutored seven quarterbacks who went on to play in the NFL: Tom Brady, Tim Tebow, Brian Griese, Chad Henne, Drew Henson, John Navarre and Logan Thomas.
• In 2017, the Eagles featured ACC Rookie of the Year AJ Dillon, the nation’s second-leading rusher among freshmen and the country’s No. 7 overall rusher with 1,589 yards and 14 touchdowns.
• Dillon was BC’s first ACC Rookie of the Year. He had 1,099 rushing yards over the last six regular season games, the most of any player in the country.
• Dillon’s 1,589 rushing yards are the second-most by any ACC freshman in conference history.
• Dillon tied for the most All-ACC votes with reigning Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson. Dillon had four games of 190+ yards of rushing in 2017.
• Over the last six regular season games, BC averaged 36 points per game and outscored the opposition by 19 points per contest including wins over Florida State (35-3), at Louisville (45-42) and at Virginia (41-10).
• Boston College defeated Syracuse 42-14, the most points scored for BC in series history (51 games).
• Boston College defeated Florida State 35-3, the most points scored for BC in series history (16 games).
• Boston College defeated Virginia 41-10, the most points scored for BC in series history (six games).
• In 2017, BC scored 35+ points in three consecutive games for the first time since 2002.
• In 2017, BC scored 40+ points in consecutive conference games once in school history in the BIG EAST and ACC.
• In 2017, 500+ yards of total offense in consecutive games against Louisville and Virginia is also a first in ACC history for BC.
• Boston College’s rushing offense was the most improved unit of any Power 5 school in yards per carry (96th to 25th) in 2017
• Boston College was 12th nationally and second in the ACC in sacks allowed in 2017.
• Boston College was 18th nationally in total plays in 2017. In 2016, the Eagles ranked 94th nationally in total plays.
• Helped deliver BC’s first bowl win since 2007 with a 36-30 victory over Maryland in the 2016 Quick Lane Bowl.
• Boston College offensive coordinator who helped mentor quarterback Patrick Towles into camp with the Houston Texans after Towles spent just one year in a pro-style offense.
• Installed a no-huddle, up-tempo pro-style offense prior to the Quick Lane Bowl and led the Eagles to 29 points in the first half.
• The 29-point first half was the most points scored in a half by the Eagles in 2016, surpassing the previous high of 28 against Wagner (Sept. 24). It was the most first-half points BC scored against a Power Five opponent since recording 24 vs. NC State on Oct. 17, 2009.
• Boston College's 29 first-half points marked the third-best first half scoring in BC's bowl history. The 2002 Eagles scored 42 in the first half vs. Toledo in the Motor City Bowl and the Eagles scored 31 in the first half of the 1985 Cotton Bowl against Houston.
• Virginia Tech’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under Frank Beamer from 2013-15; in 2013, mentored QB Logan Thomas, who finished his collegiate career by breaking career records for passing yards, attempts, touchdowns passes and rushing touchdowns by a quarterback and oversaw a young trio of wide receivers become the first group in Tech history to each record 40 or more receptions in a season.
• In 2014, worked with QB Michael Brewer, who set new school records for completions and attempts; in 2015, three Hokies on offense earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors, including first-team selection for wide receiver Isaiah Ford while VT ranked fifth in the conference for touchdowns scored (48) and sixth in passing efficiency (132.2).
• As the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Auburn in 2012, mentored Tre Mason, a 1,000-yard rusher who started six games after midseason and became the first non-QB to lead Auburn in total offense since Bo Jackson in 1985.
• As Temple’s OC in 2011, guided the Owls to the seventh-best rushing average in the nation (256.5 yards/game) and running back Bernard Pierce ranked sixth nationally, averaging 123.4 yards per game.
• Led Florida’s QB unit that held the best pass efficiency in the nation (167.3) in 2009, passing for 3,305 yards and 28 touchdowns with only five interceptions and guided Tebow in his final season in Gainesville as he passed for 2,895 yards and 21 touchdowns; Tebow graduated from UF with five NCAA, 14 SEC and 28 school records.
• In 2008, Loeffler worked with the Detroit Lions’ quarterbacks.
• From 2002 to 2007, coached QBs at Michigan, mentoring Henne, who became the first true freshman quarterback to lead his team to a Big Ten title and start in a BCS bowl game, and Navarre, Michigan’s first All-Big Ten First-Team QB since 1997
• Served as Central Michigan’s quarterbacks coach from 2000-01.
• Began career in Ann Arbor as a graduate assistant (1998-99) and a student assistant (1996-97) and during that span, worked with Brady and Griese and was part of the Wolverines’ undefeated season national championship season in 1997.
