Eagles will ride two match win streak into Senior Day on Thursday
STORRS, Conn. -- The Eagles picked up right where they left off on Sunday, taking down UConn 7-0 for their second straight shutout victory, coming within two games of .500 on the season. Senior captain Laura Lopez, one of the staples of the Eagles' doubles attack all year, earned her 100th and 101st career wins today with a 6-1, 6-1 straight set singles win and a 6-2 doubles win alongside Stephanie Sanchez.Â
Muskan Mahajan and Natasha Irani won their doubles match 6-3 to secure the opening point, and the Eagles never looked back, earning four singles points in straight sets, including a 6-0, 6-4 win from Sophia Edwards and a 6-2, 6-2 win from Hailey Wilcox.Â
Winners of two in a row, the Eagles will return to Chestnut Hill for their Senior Day match against Cornell this Thursday at 2:30 at Boston College.Â
