Pair honored for performances last week
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Freshman forward Trevor Davock (men's soccer) and senior outside hitter Katty Workman (volleyball) have been named Eagles of the Week.
Davock scored his first collegiate goal in his first appearance in the 68th minute to lead Boston College to a 1-0 season-opening win against Quinnipiac on Friday. Davock made a great individual effort at the top left corner of the box and his shot hit the right side netting to give the Eagles the win.
Workman led the Eagles with a team-high 41 kills in two matches over the weekend, many of which halted opponent runs. In the fourth and final set against South Alabama, she had five kills on seven swings (.571) to help propel the Eagles to a 3-1 victory. Workman also totaled 15 digs and two aces while recording a .338 hitting percentage.
Men's soccer (2-0-0) defeated Boston University last night, 3-2, and will host a pair of games this weekend against SMU (Friday, 5 p.m.) and Loyola Marymount (Sunday, 1 p.m.). Volleyball (3-0) will face Stony Brook, Fairfield and Marshall this weekend in the Fairfield Invitational.
